Tips for iPads Struggling to Get Commands

1. If the iPad isn't on Wi-Fi, you'll need to connect it to the network via Ethernet. You should be able to tell if it's on Wi-Fi from the lock screen. If you don't see a Wi-fi symbol in the upper right corner, it isn't connected.

2. If you have to plug it into Ethernet with an adapter, it should repeatedly flash once the iPad has accepted it, at which point it should receive commands. If the light is solid/not on, it isn't working. You can reboot the iPad/try again but the Technician may need to step in at this point.

3. Whether on Wi-Fi or Ethernet, you can confirm that the iPad is reachable over the network with Windows Command Prompt. This is a good indicator of whether or not it will receive commands.

Open Mosyle on one side of the screen, and Command Prompt on the other by searching for CMD in the Windows search bar. Once in Mosyle, find the iPad and copy its hostname. It should look like "SCS-iPad-Serial". Then in Command Prompt, type the following ping command, pasting the actual iPad hostname in the middle.

ping hostname -t

(It will actually look like this: ping SCS-iPad-GN22W74030 -t)

You may have to try this a couple of times, but if successful the iPad will continuously reply back.

You can press CTRL C to end the command once you're finished, and enter cls to clear the prompt/make room to work on other iPads.
