Sumner County Schools VPN Log-on Instructions

 

Reminder: You’ll only need a VPN connection to access Tyler when working remotely. The VPN connection requires an active internet connection prior to being started.

  1. Verify your laptop has an active internet connection. Locate the FortiClient program icon on your laptop’s desktop and double-click it.

        
     
  2.  Enter your Active Directory credentials ( FirstName.LastName ) in the appropriate fields and clickConnect”. Remember - your AD password is the same one you use for your Windows computer, Email, and WIFI logins.     

 

 


 

  1. Click “Yes” on the security window pop-up.
     

 

At this point, your laptop will have a secure VPN ( Virtual Private Network Connection ) back to the SCS network.  

Optional: You can verify you are connected by looking at the FortiClient icon in the system tray ( PC only ). It will now have a lock icon on it. Nothing will change on your screen, but your computer will think it is at your school and enable Tyler access.
